Insitura records actions taken by both teachers and students on the platform. To protect privacy, no personal data such as names, age, or gender is collected. Each teacher and student is assigned a randomly generated ID via Switch, which ensures that the data cannot be traced back to individuals.
For the LLM-based features, we use the OpenAI API. To ensure that chat interactions with the AI tutor do not compromise anonymity, it is important that you, as a teacher, avoid sharing any personal or identifying information in the chat.
OpenAI stores chat inputs for up to 30 days solely for the purpose of monitoring for abuse. After that, the data is permanently deleted. The data is not used to train or improve OpenAI’s models.

To use your ILIAS podcast in Insitura, follow these steps:
- Go to https://admin.opencast.unibe.ch and log in.
- Search for the podcast you want to use and click the scissors icon under "Action" to open the editor.
- Click on the "Subtitles" tab. (If subtitles are not yet activated or you want to edit them, see section 4.3 for instructions)
- Click "Download" to get the subtitle file.
- Copy the subtitles into Insitura
